The entrance of Islam to the Indian sub-continent put a great effect on a range of developments from religion to socio-political and cultural issues. Historiography was among significant developments which later on by spreading Islam in North West part of sub-continent flourished as a branch of literature. The domination of Persian language and Persian views in historiography on the Islamic Indian historiography determines the deep influence of Iranian historiography on the Indian’s. In fact Indian historiography initially began to improve by producing works in Persian language at the time of Delhi Sultans. Those works are in fact considered as major sources in studying medieval Indian history. Within every unique work, various components which are considered or employed by the historian is identifiable. The components like: the view points of historian, selection policy in terms of historical events, the sources employed be historian, the methods of historiography, the tools to examine the facts, the methods applied in collecting and sorting data, the social grounds and literature applied in every individual work seems unique. Amir Khosrow Dehlavi is among those scholars whose status in Indian sub-continent historiography has been neglected. This research studies on his works and his role in medieval Indian historiography. Applying context and discourse analysis method, the survey reveals that Amir Khosrow, although is not seen as a professional historiograph, he was able to reflect some historical facts about his time as well as the history of India through the mirror of literature.
