Abstract: (625 Views) |
The letter written by Amir Nezam-e Garrusi regarding the killing of Ḥamza Agha Mangur, as a primary historical document, deserves close examination and critical analysis. The findings of this study—conducted through a descriptive and analytical approach based on library sources and archival documents—reveal that the letter reflects the personal perspective of an individual who was himself a party to the incident and sought to justify his own actions. Subjectivity, bias, and partiality are among the underlying elements of this text, illustrating the viewpoint of Qajar officials toward local uprisings and discontent. On the other hand, the letter—written as Amir Nezam’s response to the Russian Embassy’s protest regarding the incident—also exposes the interference of imperial Russia in the internal affairs of Qajar Iran.
