At the dawn of the Constitutional Revolution and the early Pahlavi era, Iran’s political and social transformations paved the way for women’s entry into the fields of education and public life. In Guilan, despite traditional constraints and resistance, women independently established girls’ schools, health centers, and welfare institutions, playing a pivotal role in expanding education and social participation. Using a descriptive–analytical method and a comparative approach based on historical documents and library sources, this study examines the status of women’s education in Guilan during the Constitutional and Pahlavi periods. Findings show that most educational developments were centered in Rasht, where the establishment of girls’ schools and women’s associations became a model for other cities in Guilan. The expansion of women’s education led to an enhancement of their social position and more active participation in the cultural and economic development of the province. Thus, education emerged as one of the main pillars of modernization in Guilan.
